Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, met His Highness Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman, Department of Economy and Planning, Government of Abu Dhabi, today. Sheikh Hamed warmly received the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the accompanying delegation and expressed happiness that the visit provided an opportunity to take forward the relations with India and specifically with the State of Punjab.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister reciprocated the warm sentiments expressed by Sheikh Hamed and briefed Sheikh Hamed about the progress made by the State in different sectors and specially on the emphasis laid by his Government on promoting industries, infrastructure, tourism and associated industries. He offered cooperation in the field of agriculture and tourism as well. Sheikh Hamed noted that there were significant opportunities for both Abu Dhabi and the State of Punjab to cooperate, as Abu Dhabi was also looking to engaging with the Indian industrialists from the perspective of foreign direct investment and inviting them to establish industrial units in Abu Dhabi. Hon’ble Chief Minister gave a detailed presentation to Sheikh Hamed about the various projects embarked upon by his Government to develop the infrastructure of the State and invited investments from Abu Dhabi.
Hon’ble Chief Minister also extended an invitation to Sheikh Hamed to visit Punjab to see first hand the progress made by the State and also to interact with industries in Punjab. Sheikh Hamed thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister for the invitation and agreed to visit at a mutually convenient date.
