The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), the annual flagship event of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India, which aims to connect more than 25 Million Overseas Indians with India’s economic and social development is taking place on 8-9 January, 2008 at New Delhi. The National Capital Territory of Delhi will be Partner State and Confederation of India Industry (CII), the institutional partner.

The Prime Minister of India will inaugurate the event on 8th January, 2008 at Vigyan Bhawan and it will culminate in the conferment of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards by Rashtrapatiji at the valedictory session on 9th January, 2008 at Vigyan Bhawan. Apart from the Prime Minister of India and Rashtrapatiji, a number of Union Ministers will participate in the PBD 2008.

The other highlights of the PBD 2008 include a two day Convention, featuring diverse themes with eminent speakers, Trade & Industry Exhibition and business networking which will be organized at Vigyan Bhawan. Among other programmes, there will also be cultural evening and dinners on 8-9 January 2008 at Sirifort Auditorium.

About 1500 overseas delegates are expected to participate in the PBD 2008. Overseas Ministers of Indian origin as well as eminent Overseas Indians will also be participating in the event.

Indian Community residing in UAE is requested to participate in the PBD 2008.
