Indian Council of Cultural Relations under the administrative control of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has offered one scholarship slot to meritorious nationals from United Arab Emirates under the General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) for study at an Indian University.

A blank application form is enclosed and additional copies can be made for further use. In addition to the instructions contained in the application form the following instructions should be kept in view while applying for scholarship:

i) Candidates should clearly mention the course and the university to which he/she is seeking admission.

ii) Certified copies of all documents should be accompanied with English translations, a syllabus of the qualifying examination should be enclosed with the application.

iii) Students applying for doctoral/post-doctoral courses or Architecture should include a synopsis of the proposed area of research

iv) Students wishing to study performing arts should enclose video/audio cassettes of their recorded performances wherever possible

v) Candidates should have fluent knowledge of English.

vi) Applications will not be accepted for MBBS/BDS and courses relating to medicine

vii) It will not be possible for a student to change his course of study or university once admission of a scholar is confirmed and the scholar has arrived to join the course.

viii) All students seeking admission to M.Phil and higher course require Research Visa instead of Student Visa. The procedure for getting approval for a Research Visa is quite tedious and can take up to 6 months. The student must take the prescribed form from this Embassy and submit the application in 6 copies.

ix) No airfare is provided to the students selected under GCSS.

Applications must reach Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi before 31st January, 2008.
